Lyall Johnston and his son Matthew have joined forces to develop the AquaClean sail cleaning and rejuvenating process, and together they run the day to day operations of the company.Lyall has been involved in the boating industry in many capacities for over 30 years. He has sailed his own boats during much of that time and has worked as a delivery captain off both coasts of Canada and in Europe. He has made several Trans Atlantic crossings and is currently involved with the Canadian Coast Guard in the capacity of boating safety specialist. Lyall enjoys power boating as well as being an avid sailor. Both he and his son are category two race committee officers and do race committee work on a regular basis. Lyall also works as a Yacht Broker with Don Robertson Yacht Sales.
He represented Canada in Sydney Australia 2000 in the youth worlds, placing twelfth. He is also a two-time Junior World champion in the International 14 World Fleet, Beer, England 2000, and Bermuda 2001. He is currently working for North Sales in Toronto as a sailmaker, and can be reached anytime for sail advice. |
Matthew Johnston is an enthusiastic racer of all kinds of sailboats from frosties and lasers to maxi-boats, and presently sails on a J105.
