This beautiful aluminum "GENTLEMAN'S YACHT" was built to commercial shipping standards at Davies Ship Building in Quebec in 1984.In 2004 she had an $850,000 renovation and overhaul when both engines and the generator were rebuilt, interior improvements such as the galley, all new appliances, new Raymarine electronics, cork decking, complete paint job, inside and out, new 5 ton crane installed, bridge deck all rebuilt, electric windlass replaced and a 12 feet aft deck extension with double stairs going down to the swim platform. |
The present owner purchased the vessel in 2007, and has continued to upgrade and replace as required to bring her up to full sea worthy condition. The 600 mile cruise up the Hudson, along the Erie Canal and across Lake Ontario, from Oswego to Toronto was one of the nicest trips that he has ever done. They had a $5,000.00 budget set aside for fuel; they used only $1,380.00 with both engines running 10 hours a day plus the generator running close to 18 hours a day. Basically one gallon of fuel for every mile travelled. Having moved on board and lived on her for one year now the quality, design and comfort has really proven itself many times over.
The two spacious GUEST cabins also have double beds, closet and en suite shower, head and sink in each room. Up front, below the impressive wheelhouse is a CREW cabin with again a double bed but also with a bunk for the junior crew hand. This cabin also has its own shower, head and sink located en suite. |
The GALLEY and the SALON, with huge windows, are together in a very large area which makes entertaining a breeze but also has a large open air, covered, ALFREDO dining area which leads to the double stairs that take you down to the spacious swim platform, ideal for dingy access from the water for visitors or supplies. We have had 20 or so people on board for a buffet supper with no trouble. The BRIDGE deck above is massive, great for entertaining and sunbathing. This is where the new 5 ton hydraulic crane is located and a cradle for a 10/14 foot dinghy. The previous owner had two motorcycles there too. The WHEELHOUSE is large and bright again with huge windows, two sealed access doors, hydraulic steering and all the electronic equipment needed for a safe and comfortable cruise. Big ship horns, sounds fantastic. The large windows are made with Vemar commercial sea glass with stainless steel frames.
This is a strong, well constructed vessel built to take the beating of the weather and seas alike and is an amazingly comfortable LIVE ABOARD. This very special vessel is for sale but only to a very discerning new owner. The reason that the vessel is up for sale is that the present owner has purchased another vessel in Europe and plans to cruise the French, Belgium and Dutch Canals for the next 10 years. Recent marine forensic survey, extensive pictures and information on hand and available.
